Liam looking for Town to start games better

Shrewsbury Town striker Liam McAlinden has stressed the importance of starting games better ahead of the home double header against Notts County on Saturday and Oldham next Tuesday.

McAlinden, on loan from Wolves, feels Town must impose themselves on the opposition earlier in matches.

"We're a good side, we're training very well and playing well, but it just seems we're not starting games very well," said McAlinden, on target for Town in last weekend's 3-1 defeat at Port Vale.

"The second half of most performances since I've been here we've been very good, even away at Brentford and Peterborough we gave a good account of ourselves.

"Now we just need to start the games a lot brighter.

"As soon as it goes right once I think it will just click and that's what we're hoping for.

"We've got two very important games at home against Notts County and Oldham and we need as many points as we can out of them to kick ourselves on."
