Gaffer looking to add to squad

Graham Turner has revealed he is close to bolstering his attacking options.

Having seen Curtis Main and Graham Burke end their loan spells at the Greenhous Meadow last week, the manager has been working towards making a fresh addition and hopes he's now got his man.

"Right at the moment, we should have one settled by tomorrow, and travelling down to be with us on Thursday morning for training," said GT. "That's how it stands at the moment.

"Unless the parent club get injuries, unless he's called up to play international football this weekend, which I doubt, then something should go through in time for Thursday morning.

"There is a certain standard of player we want to bring in because we want them to go straight into the first team."

GT revealed Main had returned to Middlesbrough as his month's loan was up and that he felt Burke  would benefit from a while longer playing development football for Aston Villa.

He said: "The month for Curtis was always a month. There would have been further discussions had either party wanted to continue with it, but the month was up so he went back.

"Graham Burke obviously wasn't playing a lot of football for us.

"He's probably better off at the moment still playing development football for Aston Villa. I felt, and when I spoke to him, one of the reasons we decided it would be better going back to Aston Villa was it is probably 12 months too early.

"He's an outstanding talent and he could well go on to have a very good career in football.

"But I just felt when you looked at the physical contact in the game against Bradford, his last game with us, I just felt another 12 months of development football would do him the power of good. I've no doubt he's going to be a good player."
