England take on San Marino at the GM
Shrewsbury Town are delighted to have been asked to stage England's under-21s European Championship qualifier against San Marino on Tuesday, November 19.
England have made use of the club's facilities before with the Greenhous Meadow staging England under-19 and under-20 internationals plus three England women's internationals.
"It is a tremendous honour for the club to have been chosen by the FA to stage an England under-21 international," said Shrewsbury Town secretary Jayne Bebb.
"I've been speaking to the FA for the last few months regarding hosting an international and to have been selected for an under-21 qualifier is a real coup.
"We are sure the fixture will be well supported and ticket details plus a confirmed kick off time will be announced next week."
She added: "There will be a host of recognisable names from Premier League clubs in the England under-21 squad and it promises to be a special occasion for local football supporters."
The clash with San Marino will be the second match of a European U21 Championship qualifying double header as Gareth Southgate’s men also face Finland at MK Dons on November 14.
