After trailing 1-0 at half time to a Tranmere header from a corner we responded well in the second half and Dave Easthope and Kaiman Anderson combined to release the onrushing Sam Molyneux who finished coolly into the corner to equalise.
With plenty of time left to win the game chances for both sides were squandered with Alex Ashton making some important saves in our goal to ensure the game ended in a draw. With no extra time to be played the game went straight to penalties but unfortunately this time we lost out in the shoot-out. Jack Richards and Kaiman Anderson converted their spot kicks but Tranmere hit the back of the net with all four of theirs.
