Tom added to the Welsh U21s squad
Tom Bradshaw was buzzing after getting this third goal in three games against Coventry on Saturday and he’s had another boost this Monday morning with a call-up to the Welsh U21 squad.
Tom was on standby for the U21s squad for their games against San Marino and Moldova but this morning has got the call up to the squad. He’s now on his way to join up with the Welsh team before they travel to San Marino for a game on Friday night in Serravale and then to Moldova for Tuesday night’s game in Chisinau.
It is a great reward for Tom’s recent good form and with Town’s game at Bristol City being postponed due to international call-ups it means that Tom won’t miss any first team games for Town:”I was on the physio bed getting ready for training, the gaffer’s come in and said he wants a word and then told me I’ve been called up.
“I’m off to Middlesex now to join up with the squad and we then have games with San Marino on the 6th and Moldova on the 10th.
“It should be really good experience, if you aren’t playing for the club then you don’t get called up but seeing as I’m now playing and scoring goals it’s great to have another call-up.
“I’m scoring goals for my club and now want to do that for my country, with the Bristol City game being called off its good to be able to get another couple of games to keep my momentum going and come back in great form for the trip to Crawley.”
Tom’s recent form has seen him find the net three times in three games and he’s putting this good run down to the hard work and goals in the pre-season programme:”I’ve always said if I get regular minutes on the pitch I’ll score goals and thankfully the gaffer has given me minutes and I’ve responded with goals.
“It’s the first really good pre-season I’ve got under my belt and it goes to show if you have a good pre-season and score goals then that can come through to the season,
“If felt my goal on Saturday was my best so far and they are real striker’s goals which were pleasing.”
