Town strikers on international duty

10 September 2013

Bradshaw and Burke in action this evening

Graham Turner is keeping his fingers crossed that Shrewsbury Town strikers Tom Bradshaw and Graham Burke both return unscathed from international duty tonight.

Bradshaw came on as a sub for Wales under-21s for the last 34 minutes as they suffered a shock 1-0 defeat in San Marino on Friday night.

Bradshaw and his team mates will hope for better away to Moldova in another European Championship under-21 qualifier this evening.

Burke, on loan from Aston Villa, came on for the last eight minutes as the Republic of Ireland under-21s lost 4-0 at home to Germany last night following a late call up to the squad over the weekend.

GT, who admitted he was surprised the Welsh youngsters lost to San Marino, said: "Tom's  doing well for us at the moment. The goals are going in and we just hope he comes back safe and sound.

"They're in Moldova tonight so we'll keep our fingers crossed that he doesn't pick up any injuries.

"Graham Burke's been away with the Republic of Ireland under-21s. That was a late call up on Saturday, but we hope they both return unscathed."

GT added the fact the duo have been away on international duty would not affect his thoughts over team selection at Crawley this weekend.

"They will travel back tomorrow so I would expect them to come in full of life on Thursday," he said.
