Appeal fails to get Joseph Mills card over turned
The decision has been reached on Shrewsbury Town’s appeal against the red card which Joseph Mills in the weekend’s game against Walsall. The FA panel has looked at the incident again and have upheld the decision to show Joseph a straight red card.
It now means that Joseph will miss the games against Stevenage, Tranmere Rovers and Crewe Alexandra, the panel limited the ban to three games as they felt that the appeal was not a frivolous one.
The decision is a disappointment to manager Mike Jackson who believed the club had a good case for the decision to be overturned:”I’m disappointed as I thought we had a very good case to challenge the decision especially after consulting the people that we did and with the work everyone put in.
“I don’t think it was a sending off and it's another example of a wrong decision which we are being punished for.
“We move on though and with Joe Jacobson we have someone is very comfortable in that position but I’m disappointed for Joseph as I feel has been playing well recently.”
