Junior Shrews Treated To Gaming Afternoon

21 August 2014

Console Heaven provide a fun-filled day at the Greenhous Meadow

Junior Shrewsbury Town supporters were treated to an afternoon of video gaming outside the Greenhous Meadow on Thursday.

The young fans got to take on some of Micky Mellon's first-team players, including captain Liam Lawrence and goalkeeper Mark Halstead, thanks to a visit from the Console Heaven company.

Town also donated prizes to the winners of a FIFA tournament for the juniors, arranged by Console Heaven.

Console Heaven is the ultimate gaming van, with their van being fully customised with full surround sound, air conditioning, HD Tv’s, Xbox’s, Playstation’s and WII U’s.

They are the only gaming van in the UK with outside screens and work in partnership with GAME, enabling them to supply any games to suit all age ranges.

Stan Kay, from Console Heaven, said: "It's a new concept that has been brought over from the United States. It's the only one we know of in the Midlands and it's also the only one with outdoor facilities.

"We have four 42 inch screens inside the van and two 40 inch screens outside. It's a great team-building experience for Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

"It's good of the Club to give us this opportunity."

Town skipper Lawrence enjoyed getting involved: "The kids will remember it for a long time and it's good to see the smiles on their faces," he said.
