Town coaches speak to servicemen injured whilst serving their country

Manager Micky Mellon and assistant Mike Jackson paid a special visit to servicemen and women who have been receiving expert training at the Battle Back Centre in Lilleshall.

Eleven servicemen, injured whilst serving their country, were delivered a Level One coaching course at the Royal British Legion sponsored centre in a joint enterprise delivered by The Football Association (FA), Royal Air Force Football Association (RAFFA) and Shropshire County Football Association.

And Micky was pleased to visit the centre to chat to those on the course, as well as offering them a follow-up visit to the Greenhous Meadow to view the club and how it coaches and prepares for matches.

The Centre provides adaptive sports and adventurous activities for wounded, injured and sick servicemen and women from all three Services through activities which promote self-confidence and improve motivation to aid recovery.

The tailored programmes help with both physical and psychological challenges allowing personnel to achieve their best possible recovery and either return to service duty or make a smooth transition to civilian life.
