Club Confirms New Badge

20 December 2014

Town reveal what our new badge will be from next season

The Supporters Parliament (SP) was formed in February following an advertised meeting between supporters and Shrewsbury Town Football Club. The purpose of the SP is to bring the fans and club closer together in an open forum which benefits everyone connected to the club.

At the first meeting the main item on the agenda was the current club badge. In this initial meeting the Chairman empowered the SP with the mandate to ballot the supporters with a yes or no vote asking the question “Do you think STFC should change their current badge?”. In total 1171 votes were submitted and 91.5% of the supporters who voted were in favour of a change in badge. The Club sought feedback from the SP on key elements the supporters would want included in a re-design. Using opinions shared from recent SP meetings, the SP requested the loggerheads, our motto Floreat Salopia, and the founding year of the club, 1886. The Club, working with a design and copywriting agency, created four designs for a second phase of voting. The votes have been counted and the SP and club are proud to announce our new badge for the 2015/16 season is:

The SP would like to thank the club for giving fans the opportunity to ballot the supporters, the supporters who voted, and those who supported the SP to restore the Loggerheads. The SP is extremely proud to have worked with the club on a new badge and look forward to seeing the badge on our famous blue and amber shirts.

The SP encourages all fans to make the most of the opportunity it offers through attending meetings and having your say. If you are unable to attend please feel free to contact members of the SP who can take your questions or comments to the meeting on your behalf.
