Club to look to open town centre shop again later in the year
The town centre Clubshop in the Darwin Centre has closed after the temporary lease on the shop has come to an end.The shop has proved popular with Town fans who have enjoyed the convenience of having a Shrewsbury Town shop in the town centre.
It has also proved a popular location for the club to bring the players and manager to meet the fans with several signing events being well attended.
We will now look at the figures to see how well it has done and how the fans have used and will be in discussions with Shrewsbury Town Centre Shopping to reopen it later this year.
Shrewsbury Town CEO Matt Williams said, “The shop has proved popular with fans and it is something we will look to do again.
“We need to sit down and see how well it has done and how it has been used, then we can learn what needs to be done to improve the service when we do it again.
“The obvious disappointment was not being able to sell tickets from the shop and it is something we will aim to do in the future.
“I’d like to thank all the staff who have worked at the shop and the Darwin Centre for their help and support.”
