Loan spell with Town continues for another month
Nathaniel Mendez-Laing’s loan spell with Shrewsbury Town has been extended by another month.
Mendez-Laing joined at the start of February and showed straight away in the Brentford game what an impact he can make in games. A slight hamstring kept him out the following week but he’s been working hard on his fitness and getting back to match sharpness.
It’s another boost for manager Mike Jackson as he prepares for a very busy March:”We are going to keep Mendez for another month; I spoke to Barry Fry which was a good conversation as I’ve never spoken to him before.
“He said ‘welcome to the madhouse Mike’ and then a few words of wisdom, so I’m thankful to him and to Darren Ferguson.
“Mendez is getting game time and he’s improving all the time and he’s got that ability to produce something and that is what we need.
“March is going to be a massive month with eight games so will be very important to how our season works out.”
