Players set for game time but weather puts paid to that
Caretaker manager Mike Jackson is disappointed that today's scheduled reserve team game against Morecambe in the Final Third Development League has fallen victim to the weather.
The match had been switched to Lilleshall to protect the Greenhous Meadow pitch ahead of Saturday's League One clash with Port Vale, but was postponed earlier this morning.
The likes of on loan pair Bahrudin Atajic and Nathaniel Mandez-Laing had both been set to start to aid their quest for match fitness.
Jermaine Grandison had also been due to play alongside other first team squad members Joe Anyon, Tom Bradshaw, Alex McQuade and Sidney Schmeltz.
Jacko said: "Atajic needs topping up on his fitness and so does Mendez-Laing and Jermaine."
Injured duo Luke Summerfield and Aaron Wildig, meanwhile, continue to push for a return to fitness, not that either would have figured in today's reserve match.
Jacko added: "We've got to be careful with them. If we push them back too early in training and in games we could lose them for another two or three weeks and we can't do that."
