Bucket collection in aid of the Alzheimer's Society before Rotherham
There will be a bucket collection in aid of the Alzheimer's Society at the Greenhous Meadow before Shrewsbury Town's match with Rotherham United on Saturday.
It is the idea of Johnathan Woods, from the Lloyds Banking Group, who hopes to raise £3,000 this year.
"As part of Lloyds Banking Groups' graduate charity challenge, I will be raising awareness and money for the Alzheimer’s society," said Johnathan.
"My involvement with the Alzheimer’s Society in 2014 is primarily two fold; fundraising and awareness building.
"I will be completing numerous sporting events including a marathon, cycling coast to coast and the national three peaks challenge as well as bucket collections and smaller events to raise money.
"In addition to this, I am also hosting events including chess tournaments and tea mornings to raise the awareness of the Alzheimer’s society.
"I have set myself a target of raising £3,000 for the society this year which will provide enough money to train 30 carers to support families who have family members suffering with Alzheimers.
"I am very grateful to Shrewsbury Town for allowing me to have a bucket collection and to raise awareness of this very good cause."
