Supporter Monty wil be laid to rest on Thursday 30th January
Michael “Monty” Evans funeral
The funeral for Monty will take place at Montgomery Church on Thursday 30th January 2014 at 11.30 am. Monty has no close relatives and the funeral has been arranged by an administrator.
The club will be represented at the funeral with Head of Community Development, Martin James, acting as one of the bearers. Also attending is shop co-ordinator, Sib Hayes, who has supplied a shirt with ” Monty 69 Legend” on it, a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a football socks for Monty to wear on his final journey. The coffin will also be draped in Shrewsbury Town “ Come on you Shrews” and the blue and amber stripes flags.
A collection will be made at the funeral with the proceeds coming to Martin James from which he will organise a suitable tribute to Monty at the ground after consultation with the supporters who knew him.
