Tom Eaves and players sticking together and backing Jacko
Striker Tom Eaves says the Shrewsbury Town squad are fully behind caretaker manager Mike Jackson who takes charge for the first time at Swindon tomorrow.
The on loan Bolton Wanderers forward said the squad were sticking together following recent disappointing results which led to Graham Turner stepping down as manager earlier this week.
Eaves said: "It was a shock to everyone to see that he stepped down. But there's no doubt right now that Michael Jackson's the right man for the job. All the lads are behind him and we all want to do well together as a team.
"We all want to do well for Michael Jackson as well.
"It's just a matter of taking it a day at a time, sticking together through a time like this and remaining positive. We're just all looking forward to the game on Saturday.
"We had a meeting on Thursday morning and we had a good talk about what's going to happen over the course of the next three games.
"We're just going to give it our utmost and not let him down."
There could be a new face in the Town side at Swindon with midfielder Fraser Fyvie, signed on loan from Wigan Athletic, pushing for his debut.
"He's done really well in training, he looks good, so we'll see if he starts on Saturday," said Eaves. "I heard he played a few games for Aberdeen before going to Wigan so he'll be good to fortify our squad."
