Friday's Community Sports Trust event transforms the players tunnelShrewsbury Town's Community Sports Trust held a painting day at the Greenhous Meadow last Friday to transform the players tunnel with motivational pictures.
The CST welcomed both Pippins design and a selection of young supporters to the stadium as manager Micky Mellon had tasked them with transforming the players tunnel with pictures to inspire the players before they take to the field this season.
A selection of pictures were carefully chosen and prepared for painting by Pippins design.
Five hours later, the young supporters, with a helping hand from all the players and management, had produced some magnificent paintings.
A Special thanks must also go out to MP Daniel Kawczynski who dropped in to help complete the project.
Town's CST manager Jamie Edwards said "Having worked with John from Pippins design in the past I knew straight away that this would be the best way to complete the transformation of the tunnel.
"It is a great way to engage young supporters and first team players away from the football pitch and I hope it will help inspire the team for the coming season."
Manager Micky Mellon, who has also worked with Pippins Design before, said " the paintings are fantastic, it is hard to believe when you look at them that children as young as seven have helped produce them.
"For me it’s really important that our players interact with the community. The painting displayed in the tunnel will remind the players every day that the community is a huge part of the football club."
The CST will be holding another painting day in August please check the website (www.stct.co.uk) for further details on this.
They are also having a squad visit to the CST Holiday Course at the same place the blind football took place.
The holiday courses reach out to over 1,000 children over the summer across different locations across Shropshire.
