Mass Decontamination Exercise to be held at the Greenhous Meadow

Mass Decontamination Exercise

Saturday 2nd August 2014, 10:00am – 12:30pm Shrewsbury Town Football Club, Greenhous Meadow, Shrewsbury

A joint mass decontamination exercise is taking place on the 2nd August 2014 at Shrewsbury Town Football Club.

We are looking to recruit around 100 volunteers to play the part of spectators requiring specialist decontamination by Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service following the release of an unknown hazardous substance.

Volunteers will be required to act as if they have been contaminated by an unknown substance and will be taken to decontamination tents which will be set up on the car park of the Greenhous Meadow.

The process will involve you entering a showering unit and you will be required to wear swimwear (or shorts and t-shirt that you don’t mind getting wet) underneath your clothing

If you are interested in participating, please complete and return the attached volunteer form to: Nicola.wall@shropshire.gov.uk and we will be in touch in the next few weeks to confirm the joining instructions for the day.

We will be providing refreshments and a certificate of attendance to all volunteers.
