Youth beaten by Robins

20 July 2014

Under-18s friendly: Cheltenham Town 5-2 Shrewsbury Town

Shrewsbury Town's youth team continued their preparations for the new season at Cheltenham Town on Saturday but could not prevent defeat.

The Robins went ahead after nine minutes at Seasons Leisure Complex although Town turned the game around - George Hassell headed an equaliser before Jordan Wilson's penalty gave Ian Dawes' side the lead inside 20 minutes.

However, Cheltenham fought back after half-time by scoring four goals as Dawes opted to rest all of the second-year scholars.

Town's youngsters face Crewe Alexandra next for their fourth pre-season friendly - on Tuesday 22 July at Lilleshall National Sports Centre.
