Micky Mellon delighted to have signed young winger

Micky Mellon is excited to have added James Caton to his Shrewsbury Town squad having watched the young winger regularly in his days at Blackpool.

James found first team chances hard to come by at Bloomfield Road but the Town manager is a big admirer of the 20-year-old and is delighted to have made him his tenth signing.

Micky said: "I've known him for a long time since he was at Bolton and then when he went to Blackpool with my pal Ian Holloway I was interested to see how he did.

"I've watched him over the years at Blackpool in various games and he's always been somebody that really interested me.

"He's an old fashioned wide player, brave, wants to get on the ball, can dribble and go both ways, inside and outside. He's got terrific blistering pace.

"With his age, he's got an awful lot of potential to realise.

"I was just so interested in signing him and got on to him early so I'm delighted to get him on board just like the other signings we've made. He's an exciting player."
