Micky looking forward to cooking for Town fans

25 June 2014

Sign and Dine set to be a special night for fans

Manager Micky Mellon is looking forward to meeting as many Shrewsbury Town supporters as possible when he cooks for them at a Sign and Dine night at the Greenhous Meadow later this month.

Micky together with assistant manager Mike Jackson and goalkeeping coach Danny Coyne will be busy in the kitchen before answering questions, signing autographs and posing for photographs with the fans.

The event will be held in the Sovereign Suite at the Greenhous Meadow on Thursday, June 26 with tickets priced just £14.95 which includes a two-course meal so it's fantastic value for money.

Micky has welcomed the opportunity to step into the kitchen and he's excited about having a first chance to talk to the club's supporters.

He said: "It will be fantastic to get to meet the fans, to get an idea of what they want from their football club.

"Hopefully they will see from me that I've got the energy, enthusiasm and clarity of what I want to achieve here.

"We've had people in from the local community and it's important we ask them what they want from their experience here. What is it you want to see? What do you want your matchday experience to be like? I want to know that.

"I really want to engage with the local community and really get into the heads of them and try and deliver what they want to see from their football club.

"I think it's a fantastic idea from Matt to put this together and it will give them an opportunity to get to know me.

"I'm not just the guy who stands in the technical area wearing their badge. They will get a better idea of what I'm like as a personality."

Supporters are advised to arrive promptly at 6.30pm for a 7pm start on June 26. You can book tickets by calling (01743) 289177 and selecting option 2.
