Burton plays the full 90 minutes against Croatia

Shrewsbury Town goalkeeper Callum Burton played the full 90 minutes for England's under-18s for the first time yesterday.

His two previous appearances at under-18 level against Hungary and Belgium had come as a second-half substitute.

But he was selected in head coach Neil Dewsnip's starting XI for yesterday's friendly against Croatia at St George's Park, the FA's national training centre.

Callum, 17, who signed his first professional contract at the Greenhous Meadow last week, made some good saves but was unable to prevent England from losing 2-1.

Callum and his England under-18 team mates will hope for a more pleasing result when they take on Croatia once again at St George's Park tomorrow.
