Jon Taylor ready for Crawley test

JT backing Town to end disgraceful home form

Winger Jon Taylor insists he believes Shrewsbury Town have what it takes to kickstart the push for League One safety ahead of tonight's home game against Crawley (7.45pm).

Taylor admits Saturday's 3-2 defeat against Bristol City was a big disappointment but he's determined to do all he can to start to put it right tonight.

"I don't think there's any point playing football if you don't have belief that you can do something for the club that you're playing for," said Taylor.

"You have to wear your heart on your sleeve and do something about it.

"You can't just go out and play football and not do anything and just let a game fly past you. You've got to grab it with both hands and do something for you and the club."

Town have not won at the Greenhous Meadow in their last nine games and Taylor knows that run has to come to an end.

He said: "It's obviously disgraceful but we've just got to not think about it. I thought the fans were excellent on Saturday and we need them with us again tonight.

"Hopefully they'll cheer us on and we'll win a game - that's what we need to do."
