England make changes ahead of Greenhous Meadow clash

6 May 2014

Toni Duggan and Karen Carney out Dunia Susi and Remi Allen in

Head coach Mark Sampson has been forced to make two changes to his England Women’s squad ahead of Thursday night’s World Cup qualifier against Ukraine at the Greenhous Meadow.

Manchester City striker Toni Duggan picked up a foot injury in training on Friday and has been replaced by in-form Notts County midfielder Dunia Susi.

Birmingham City captain Karen Carney, who scored the winner against Spain the first time the England women's team played in Shrewsbury, has also been ruled out with a back complaint.

Her Blues club mate Remi Allen has been called into the senior squad for the first time.

The Three Lions have won all five of their qualifiers to date, scoring 29 goals without reply. Duggan scored a hat-trick as England eased to a 9-0 win over Montenegro in Brighton last time out.

England take on Ukraine as part of their FIFA 2015 Women’s World Cup qualifying campaign on Thursday.

The match kicks off at 7.30pm and will be broadcast live on BBC2.

Tickets for Thursday's game are on sale from the Greenhous Meadow box office. They can also be bought over the phone on (01743) 273943 and online at www.shrewsburyfc.talent-sport.co.uk

Tickets are priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for children, students and concessions. A family ticket is available at £10 (two adults, two children) and group discounts also apply.
