Micky starts the work of rebuilding the Town squad
Recruitment to build an exciting Shrewsbury Town squad is top of the list of priorities for new manager Micky Mellon as he throws himself into his new role at the Greenhous Meadow.
He has held talks with a number of transfer targets and is encouraged with the progress he's making with several of them.
"We need to put a team together so we've been working really hard on that, myself, Michael and Danny Coyne," said Mellon.
"We've been getting some ideas together about the type of player we want to bring here and we're making progress now.
"There's a few quite far down the line. We're just trying to tie a few bits and pieces up and hopefully we'll get them over the line. Hopefully we will have some news soon."
The Scot added: "There's a huge rebuilding job added to some exciting young players that are still here, young players that have come through the ranks. It's a good rebuilding job. It's not something I'm not looking forward to and enjoying putting together."
