CST help to form walking group from Shrewsbury Town
Shrewsbury Town Community Trust have linked with Shropshire Council’s Walking for Health programme, to provide a new walking group from Shrewsbury Town FC.
Walking often is good for your health, controlling weight and reducing the risks of heart disease. The free walks are suitable for all levels of ability, and will vary in duration depending on the group.
If you want an opportunity to meet new people, have a stroll within the natural areas of beauty in Shrewsbury, whilst also being guided around the history of interesting landmarks, come along to our volunteer led walking group.
Alan Bowers Shrewsbury Town Walking group leader “It is great to bring this Walking for Health programme to Shrewsbury Town FC, and creates an opportunity for all generations including post retirement age, like myself to socialise, be active together and lead a healthier lifestyle”
Two taster walks will take place on Monday 12th and Monday 19th May, then walks will continue the 2nd and 4th Monday of the month from June’14.
Meet at Powerleague, STFC ground for 10am start. For your first walk arrive 10minutes early to complete a registration form. The walk will finish at Powerleague where teas and coffees can be purchased for a wind down after the walk.
