Futsal scholarship programme recruiting for next season
We are currently recruiting new players for Shrewsbury Town Football Club's Futsal Scholarship programme for next season to start in September.
This is aimed at school leavers aged 16+.
The scholars play Futsal for the club on a bi-weekly timetable against other Futsal teams from Football League teams across the country. Our matches are based at the fantastic purpose-built Birmingham Futsal arena.
All students study for the Edexcel BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Sport (Performance and Excellence) at our educational partner, Walford and North Shropshire College. This qualification is the equivalent to three A-levels and can lead to university entrance.
Our current first year scholars have gone from strength to strength, both academically and with the performances in matches.
The excellent educational provision and coaching have seen Futsal results improving and academically we are set to boast a 100 per cent success rate with our intake.
Harry Warren, a student on the current course, said: "Since joining the course I haven’t looked back. I have enjoyed both the educational and the futsal side.
"The educational side is hard work but it’s worth putting all the effort in to gain the best marks.
"The tutors offer all the help you need and the futsal side is enjoyable as you get to train every day and represent the club on a match day, wearing the club's kit against other professional teams.
"In addition, the club offers you good opportunities within the club, such as free tickets for the games."
