Armed Forces Day

29 November 2014

Fan Park, helicopters and more ahead of the big game

Saturday’s game against Burton Albion is Shrewsbury Town’s armed forces day.

The Armed Forces Community Covenant has teamed up with the club to give fans an opportunity to meet personnel from local Army, Navy and RAF units.

Shrewsbury Town has offered the free match tickets to serving military personnel and their families.

The day is about celebrating the special historical relationship between the club and the armed forces.

From noon until 2.45pm, members of the armed forces will be setting up a fan park outside the stadium, with a host of free activities.

The fan park will include an inflatable assault course, weapons, personal equipment and kit and a laser clay pigeon shoot.

The fan park opens at 12:00 noon with an inflatable assault course, weapons and personal equipment and kit for kids, laser clay pigeon shoot, military vehicles, field catering and field hospital displays.

The matchball will be delivered by an RAF Shawbury helicopter around 2:50 pm and at half-time the Royal Irish Band will be playing on the pitch.

So get down to the game early and take in some of these great attractions.
