Leutwiler Looking Forward To Walsall Trip

7 November 2014

Goalkeeper hoping to keep out the Saddlers

Goalkeeper Jayson Leutwiler is looking forward to Shrewsbury Town's FA Cup First Round Proper game against Walsall.

Town travel to the Banks's Stadium at the weekend (3pm kick-off) looking to beat the Sky Bet League 1 side and reach the Second Round Proper of the competition.

And Swiss stopper Leutwiler believes Micky Mellon's side can use their experience of knocking out higher-division opponents in the Capital One Cup once again on Saturday.

“I am looking forward to playing Walsall and trying to get into the next round, although I think Walsall will play very well," said Leutwiler.

"But we have shown our quality that we can beat big teams before and we will try and get the result again. The Capital one cup was fantastic.

"Everyone enjoyed the game against Chelsea and everyone wants another home tie against a big team in the FA cup.”

Leutwiler has represented Switzerland up to under-20s level and recognizes the talent that Shrewsbury have coming through in young goalkeepers Callum Burton and Harry Lewis.

“They train with us and are progressing really well. I think they can go very far in the game. They are very young but so good for their age," he said.
