Micky Mellon makes the two changes to the side who won away to York City with Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and James Wesolowski coming in to replace Anthony Griffith who drops to the bench and Andy Mangan who is missing with a knee injury.
Town got off to a great start and were ahead with just over 2 minutes on the clock, the home side kept the ball well looking for the opening, they remained patient with the ball played back to Goldson who hit a lovely diagonal ball in behind the Bury defence to find the run of Akpa Akpro, he controlled the ball well before hitting a low shot across Lainton and into the far corner.
The windy conditions were making it an interesting game but Town were using the wind to their advantage with some good early balls in behind the Bury defence. Demetriou in particular was finding the space down the left and was putting in some excellent deliveries into the box.
Town doubled their lead on 19 minutes with captain Goldson heading home, it came from a Bobby Grant corner and there was Goldson with a lovely header that flew past Lainton to make it 2-0.
Despite the score Bury still looked a threat when they had the ball and were doing their best to get back at the home side. Town had to remain alert and continue to do the hard work and they were managing to restrict Bury to very few sights on goal.
Town made it 3-0 just after the half hour mark and it was a lovely goal, it started with Bobby Grant delivering a lovely free-kick to the back post to find Collins, he let the ball drop and despite being marked he found the space to turn and loop the ball to the back post and there was Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro rising highest to head home his second and make it 3-0 to Town.

The ref had a big decision to make with just over a minute of the half gone when Pablo Mills slid in late and took out James Collins at knee height, there were big shouts from the home fans but ref Woolmer took his time and in the end it was only a yellow card for the Bury defender.
With the clock just past the 50 minute mark Town went 4-0 up and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro grabbed his third, once again the build up from Town was patient with the ball coming in from a throw, Wesolowski played the ball off to Jean-Louis who had his back to goal, he took the ball with his right and put it into his left and then drove in a low shot that flew past Lainton to make it 4-0 to Town.
Town weren't resting on their laurels and were continuing to push and probe and look to add to their lead. Bobby Grant fired a long range effort just over the target from outside the box and then Knight-Percival had a good chance from a corner but he got his angles wrong and put the ball wide of the mark.
On 67 minutes Micky Mellon made his first change of the evening brining on Jordan Clark to replace Bobby Grant who left the pitch to a warm round of applause from the home fans.
Town added a fifth goal on 72 minutes and it was a beauty, Ryan Woods drove into the box looking for the shot but then saw Clark, Woods flicked it up and Clark turned and shot in one sweet move to volley the ball past Lainton and make it 5-0 to Town.
Minutes later Micky Mellon made his second change of the evening bringing on Scott Vernon to replace hat-trick hero Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro who left the pitch to a standing ovation. Then minutes later Micky made his final change with Anthony Griffith on to replace Ryan Woods.
Town had a great chance to finish the game with a sixth goal when a wayward pass was intercepted by Vernon, he took the ball forward and played a lovely ball to put Clark in on goal, he though unselfishly tried to thread the ball through to Collins when the shot would have probably been the better option and all Town won was a corner.
