SAD NEWS: Lloyd Burton

22 April 2015

Young Town Supporter Passes Away

The thoughts of everyone at Shrewsbury Town are with Lloyd's family at this difficult time.

"We are all really sad to hear the news about Lloyd.

"Lloyd spent time with us during the season and inspired us all the way through with his courage and the way that he conducted himself - he was a lovely boy.

"Our thoughts are with his lovely family whose lives we feel privileged to be a part of.

"Hopefully we can give them support in the way that they supported us."
Manager Micky Mellon said:

Lloyd, who died from cancer at 11 years old, had enjoyed spending time with the club and helped produce a painting of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho which the Blues boss signed ahead of the Capital One Cup tie.

Shrewsbury Town Football Club are saddened by the news that young supporter and former academy player Lloyd Burton passed away on Wednesday morning.
