Community Department Celebrate Work In 2015

"The great thing about the 21st celebration is that it isn't just football, it's about the community.

"It's other sports, activities and Shrewsbury Town in the Community are doing a terrific job.

"79 of the people involved in the NCS programme raised almost £7,000!"
The Mayor of Shrewsbury said: "It was nice to have the support of a lot of the partners that we currently work with.

"It was even better to see potential new partners and sponsors in the room.

"It was also nice to look back over what we had achieved in 2015 and it has given us inspiration to do even more good work next year."

Shrewsbury Town in the Community manager Jamie Edwards said:

Mandy Thorn MBE, managing director at Marches Care, also spoke about the Meadow Memories project.

There were also speeches from Jade Hibbert (NCS Co-ordinator for Shrewsbury Town in the Community) and Amy Edwards (Community Officer) who started off as a volunteer.

He was followed by Shrewsbury Town in the Community manager Jamie Edwards who also reflected on what the department had achieved during 2015.

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon spoke about his involvment with the community since his time at the Club.

The Mayor and Mayoress of Shrewsbury were among those in attendance at the event held in the President's Suite at Greenhous Meadow.

Shrewsbury Town in the Community celebrated their work during 2015 on Monday afternoon as part of their 21st anniversary - which comes around next year.
