Christmas Wishes From Shrewsbury Town

24 December 2015

Greetings to all Town fans around the world

The Chairman, manager, players and staff at Shrewsbury Town Football Club would like to wish all their supporters and the people of Shropshire a very merry Christmas.

The club are hopeful of delivering a late present to supporters in the shape of three points on Saturday when Fleetwood Town visit the Greenhous Meadow for the Boxing Day clash.

But in the meantime, manager Micky Mellon would also like to take this time to thank the Town fans and wish them all well.

“I’d like to thank them to be honest. When we get defeats things are tough. We take it badly because you’ll see, it’s tough losing games and I take it badly.

“But you’ve got to keep a consistency on it and look at the performances and be fair with the group. You can’t go shouting about results you’ve just got to fix different parts of the performances to get the results.

“I’ve had so many people coming up to me in Shrewsbury and so many fantastic phone calls from people.

“People were coming up to me in supermarket yesterday and some of the encouragement I get is terrific and it really fills you with spirit, not the alcohol, the right type of spirit and you really want to fight for these people.

“You want to come in this morning and fight for these people and keep trying to do what we all want and that’s put together a team that plays good football and wins games for Shrewsbury. It’s important. That’s what I’m trying to do.

“So it’s a big thanks to them. I know you won’t please everybody and I don’t expect that to happen because not everyone pleases me but that’s opinion. But we’re working very hard and we all trying to do the same thing. It’s a big Merry Christmas from us and thank you for all your support in this calendar year and I’m sure that will continue.”
