Skipper's thoughts after the FA Cup game at Grimsby

Liam Lawrence was back in the starting line-up as Town took on Grimsby Town in the FA Cup.  The skipper put in an assured performance as Town battled a strong Grimsby side to earn a replay at the Greeenhous Meadow.

After the game he spoke to the press to give his view on the game

How was performance tonight?
“We weren’t great out there tonight. Fair play to Grimsby they made it tough for us and we never really got going. We had a few chances in the second half but apart from that I thought all of us were not good enough. We have got the replay and we are still in the cup so that is the positive to take from tonight.”
“Grimsby will be hard in the replay. They are workman-like and we know we will have to up our game to beat them next time.”
“It is a great incentive for me to get through as Cardiff will be next. It would be great to go back if we do go through because I still know a few people there and they are a fantastic club with unbelievable support. Someone told me before we played tonight that we had been drawn against Cardiff but I kept it to myself.”

On Jayson Leutwiler’s injury picked up late on in the first half?
“It unsettled us a bit but we have adequate cover in Mark Halstead and he did well.”

Back to league on weekend with a trip to Peterborough?
“It is another away trip and another big game for us. It will be a difficult challenge but we will go there and give it our best shot because we need to get a result out of it. If we play as well as we can do we will come back with the result.”
