Network Rail Session Sees Children Learn About Rail Safety

5 January 2015

CST session took place over Christmas

More than 30 children took part in the Network Rail safety session in the Christmas soccer schools run by Shrewsbury Town Community Sports Trust.

During breaks, the children were spoken to by the Community Sports Trust about the importance of rail safety, especially over the festive period.

Aiden Wassell, the Community Sports Trust's health and inclusion officer, said: "We felt it was key for the kids to learn about rail safety or to recap their knowledge of rail safety.

"With Christmas being a time for being out and about with friends, we wanted to make sure that they were reminded of the dos and don’ts.

"We have recently completed our first cohort on a Monday night for kids 14 up, we will also be planning more sessions at areas of high incidence."
