Micky Mellon makes three changes from the side that was unlucky to go down 1-0 away to Burton with James Wesolowski, Cameron Gayle and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro coming in for Scott Vernon, Bobby Grant and Josh Passley.
It was Luton who had the first good chance after a quick interchange of passes had Jake Howells in space in the Town box, he fired in a low drive that beat the dive of Leutwiler but the post was there to save Town and the defence were on hand to clear the danger.
After that early scare Town settled into the game and began to play their normal passing and probing game looking to get at the home side and create spaces and chances.
There was a break in play on 15 minutes when Luton's Stockley stayed down after him and Cam Gayle had slid in to challenge for the ball, Luton elected to play on but this decision came to nothing so they played the ball out of play so the stricken Stockley could receive treatment.
Luton were looking a threat when they got round the Town box but Leutwiler was in good form with first a save from a curling Griffith shot and then when the rebound found Andy Drury on the edge of the box he smashed a shot in but Leutwiler was again equal to it with a great punch away.
It was building into an game where play was alternating between the two sides and both were looking to get the ball forward quickly and get on the offensive. There were chances at both ends but they were of the long range variety but both keepers were dealing with what was being thrown at them.
Ref Adcock was getting a bit of stick from the home fans but he wasn't having too bad a game in charge. He was forced into an easy decision after Leutwiler picked the ball up to take a quick Town goal kick, Luke Wilkinson came across and kicked the ball away stopping Town starting play quickly and was booked for his troubles, a silly booking but one that was contested by some of the home faithful.

There had been a right tussle all between James Collins and Luton's Steve McNulty all game with the Hatter's captain using his strength to gain the advantage, Collo had been sharing his thoughts with the ref about how he thought a few of these had been fouls. Early in the second half the two clashed again with nothing given but Town were for the challenge on Lawrence straight after. Woods and Lawrence stood over the ball with Woods rolling it to Lawrence who then drove in a good looking shot that flew just wide of the target,
Town had a good chance on 57 minutes when a quick break saw the ball with Lawrence, he looked up and then hit a good cross field ball to find Collins who took the ball down well, he came inside and then hit a shot/cum shot that had Tyler back peddling before tipping the ball behind for a Town corner.
Town were starting to create a few more chances and Collins had a couple of half chances and then Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro had a good break forward that saw him drive into the Luton box and then cut in a shot that was deflected behind for a corner.
On 70 minutes Town were reduced to 10 men and it was Knight-Percival who was the man to leave the action after picking up a second yellow card. It looked a little harsh on Knight-Percival who challenged for the ball with Doyle, both players were stretching for the ball ball but the Luton player stayed down holding his head and ref Adcock was across and reaching straight for his pocket for the yellow.
Despite being down to 10 men Town were continuing to look to get forward and when Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro picked the ball up he broke over the halfway line, he kept his run going and skipped across a couple of challenges before hitting in a shot that was always going wide.
There was a heart in mouth moment for Town after sub Shaun Whalley got in behind the Town defence and got to the by-line before driving a shot across the face of the Town goal, Mark Ellis got a touch that turned it towards the goal but luckily it flew past the far post and out for a corner.
Then minutes later Leutwiler was there again to save Town, this time another Luton cross was flashed across the Town box, Goldson stabbed a foot in and turned it goal wards but Leutwiler was there to pull off another good save.
The Town keeper was in excellent form and as the game entered injury time he was there again after a shot was driven low to his nearpost but Leutwiler was down quickly to save and Goldson came across to smash the ball away.
It was Luton who were creating the chances but the Town defence and Leutwiler were dealing with what the home side had, the last kick of the game saw a long range effort from Stockley but Leutwiler was there again getting his body behind the ball to save.
