We continue our look at this seasons Sky Bet League 1 Opponents

It has been two years since Bradford City’s fantastic journey to Wembley for the League Cup Final. The club then defeated Chelsea in the FA cup last season, putting four goals past Jose Mourinho’s men at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round. However these exploits were not matched in the league campaign last time round as they missed out on a play-off berth in Sky Bet League One, finishing in 7th place.

Name: Bradford City association football Club
Nickname: The Bantams
Stadium: Valley Parade
Founded: 1903

Last season:
Bradford impressed in the FA cup last season by reaching the quarter finals. They defeated Chelsea along the way, being the only team to have ever overcome a 2-0 deficit at Stamford Bridge and win during the reign of Mourinho. However Reading proved a step too far as they were humbled in a 3-0 defeat.
In the league, the Bantams missed out on the play offs by one place, they finished four points adrift of sixth placed Chesterfield. Bradford had a goal difference of 0, scoring 55 goals and conceding exactly the same figure.
Billy Clarke was the club’s top scorer netting 13 league goals and one in the FA cup.

The Gaffer:
Phil Parkinson is the man in charge. The former midfielder made 361 appearances for Reading between 1992-2003, winning their player of the year award on two occasions.
The former midfielder started his managerial career at Colchester United in 2003, since then he has also had spells at Hull City and Charlton Athletic. Parkinson was appointed Bradford City manager on 28th August 2011. The 47 year old led the Bantams to promotion into Sky Bet League One in 2013. Parkinson is currently the sixth longest serving manager in English league football having been with the club nearly four years.

Past Meetings:
Shrewsbury last faced Bradford in the 2013/14 season in League One. Bradford won 2-1 at Valley Parade in September 2013 before the Shrews won at the Greenhous by the same score in March 2014.
