Stars ‘heading’ to Shropshire for charity football match

Music, soap and TV stars set for Greenhous Meadow match

Stars of stage and screen will unite in Shropshire this summer to raise funds at a charity football match in aid of PDSA.

Celebrities including Soap Star Jake Wood, X-Factor winner James Arthur and This Morning’s Jeff Brazier will line up at Shrewsbury Town FC’s Greenhous Meadow stadium on Sunday 30 August.

The funds raised will help PDSA provide its veterinary services in the county. The charity provides veterinary treatment for 1,300 pets in Shropshire at an annual cost of more than £175,000.

Event organiser. Adam Rickitt, said: “Our two teams of celebs are going to have a lot of fun running around the pitch – just like our pets do in the great outdoors! We can’t wait to see them battling it out on the pitch to raise funds for poorly pets. PDSA provides some of the most vulnerable pets in society with the veterinary care they need and deserve. We hope football fans and animal lovers alike with come and support us this Bank Holiday. We’ll be revealing more celebrity footballers over the coming weeks for what promises to be a great family day out.”

Car parking at the ground will be £5.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to funding PDSA’s veterinary services in the Shropshire.
