Barnett On Accrington Stanley Clash

3 March 2015

Striker Wants To Put Things Right Tonight

"I'm still settling down and getting to know the other strikers," said Barnett.

"From a personal point of view I would have liked to have added to the one goal I've got, but first and foremost it's down to getting good results for the team.

"We all want to kick on and put things right."

The 29-year-old believes he has bedded in well at Town and is now hoping to start finding the net on a more regular basis.

"No game is easy if you don't prepare to do the basic things right," he said.

"We've got to work hard, do the basics right and then hopefully the quality of the team will shine through."

Barnett believes Town will have to put in more of a shift than they did against the Cobblers at the weekend if they are to get the right result.

"You get to put things right with the defeat from the last two games," said Barnett.

"Everyone wanted to play straight away again on Sunday. It's good that the game has come and we've got to remember that if we win then we go top."

And Barnett is just glad that another game has come around so soon after the disappointment of the last two.

Town take on Stanley at the Store First Stadium tonight (7.45pm kick-off) and will go top of the league table with victory.

The January transfer window's deadline-day signing was disappointed following Saturday's 2-1 defeat at home to Northampton.

Striker Tyrone Barnett is relishing a quick return to Sky Bet League 2 action as Shrewsbury Town travel to take on Accrington Stanley tonight.
