10 March 2015

Mike Barlow is riding from London to Amsterdam for PCUK

Charity Bike Ride to Amsterdam for Prostate Cancer – Introducing the Town Captain for the ride.

As part of the clubs commitment to the Football League’s nominated charity, Prostrate Cancer UK we have found a volunteer to take part in the charity’s bike ride from London to Amsterdam in June

Mike Barlow is a keen cyclist and member of the kitchen staff at the Greenhous Meadow. He is looking forward to the challenge of riding from London to Amsterdam and helping to raise money for this fine charity.

Mike is looking forward to joining other football league club fans representing their teams setting off from Leyton Orient’s Matchroom Stadium in Brisbane Road on Friday 12th June for the 145 mile cycle to the Ajax Stadium in Amsterdam, arriving on the Saturday evening.

He is very proud to be representing Town for such a worthwhile cause as Prostate Cancer UK and is looking forward to getting going.

As part of the challenge Mike and the club need to raise £1200 and to assist him the club have set up a just giving page www.justgiving.com/Shrewsbury-Town

1 in 8 men will get prostate cancer in the UK and all the money raised will go towards the campaign to help more men survive prostate cancer and enjoy a better quality of life.
