15 May 2015

Manager Delighted To Have Sadler And Clark

“They are the same type of profile as Mat Sadler, in lads who we feel can come in and improve us in different areas of the team.”

Micky is hard at work on a number of other targets and is hopeful that these may come to fruition shortly:”I’m thinking I’m quite far down the line with a few more players but we all know that can change quickly.

“He is a talented player and he is with people who will continue to help him improve, he is only young and he is a perfectionist but knows he’s in the right environment.”

“He is a lad who is very capable of improving as he has that desire to keep improving to get the best out of him.

“He got better and better and the exciting thing is that he will continue to improve and there is a lot more to come from Jordan.

“He is a lad who always works hard on his game to improve and last season was his first real season of league football.

The other signing is Jordan Clark who has agreed a new one year deal for next season.  Clicker showed last season the potential ne has and Micky is hoping the youngster will continue to improve:”I’m delighted and as everyone knows he can along with me from Barnsley last season.

“We have to be better and we are going to make sure we bring in players who can cope with that challenge and to help us to adapt to a tougher level of football.”

“I know that there is improvement that needs to be made in all areas of the team and we need to understand that we are going into a higher level.

Micky’s aim is to bring in a number of players that bring League 1 experience to help improve the squad for the challenge ahead:”It’s going to be all about improving and we know the type of players we want and we’ve gone about getting them in early.

“We had a good long chat with him a few days ago and he knew a lot about what we are doing and I’ve always said I wanted to bring in players to make us better and I feel Mat is the first of those players.”

“He is type of player we are bringing to the club with League 1 experience and knowhow and he posses the qualities we need to keep us moving forward.

“He will be well known to Shrewsbury fans from his spell with the club the first time around.

Mat Sadler agreed his deal yesterday and put pen to paper on a two year deal after completing his medical and the gaffer was delighted to have him on board:”I’m delighted to get Mat on board, he is a lad who has great experience at League 1 level and is a very good football player.

With offers out to Jermaine Grandison, Andy Mangan and Jean-Louis Akpa Akpro and everyone else under contract the Town squad is looking strong already.

Yesterday we confirmed the signing of Mat Sadler on a two year deal and this morning Jordan Clark agreed a new deal to stay at the club.

Town manager Micky Mellon has once again been quick to bolster his squad as he plans for the pre-season.
