Manager Looking Forward To Facing Former Club

"Everybody's fit and raring to go, we've managed to get a few rested up so there's no excuses," said Micky.

"We're raring to go and looking forward to a tough tie up at Barnsley."

The only absentees are defender Dom Smith and midfielder Darren McKnight who are both on international duty.

Micky has also confirmed that he has no fresh injury concerns heading into the game at the weekend.

"It was massively important to get the win," said the Town manager.

"The performances have been OK but we have to add wins to that and make the performance patches in games last longer.

"Knight-Percival and Wesolowski played. Sam (Patterson) and young Clark getting game time, it’s always important to get the squad playing."

Micky felt it was important to pick up the 2-0 win over Oldham in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy on Tuesday night.

"Barnsley is a club that I had a fantastic time at and I had a lot of fond memories there," said Micky.

"I'm looking forward to going back and seeing all of the old faces because it's such a traditional club with people that have been there for many years.

"But I'm sure that they like me will put aside that bit of love and be trying our best to win a game of football and come back with three points."

Although the Shrews boss only has three points on his mind going into the clash.

Micky worked as assistant manager at Barnsley previous to arriving at Greenhous Meadow.

Town take on the Tykes in the Sky Bet League 1 clash at Oakwell at the weekend (3pm kick-off) looking to build on Tuesday night's win over Oldham Athletic in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy.

Manager Micky Mellon is looking forward to going back to a former club as Shrewsbury Town travel to Barnsley on Saturday.
