Ant Thomas takes a look at the 2014-2015 accounts

The Shrewsbury Town AGM took place last week and the club can now comment on the latest set of accounts.  These run from 1st July 2014 to 30th June 2015 i.e. the 2014/15 season, where STFC regained promotion to League One.

Lifelong Shrewsbury Town supporter Ant Thomas has once again kindly produced a short article which will hopefully explain the accounts in a clear and simple way.

The headlines from the report are:-

- The club made a loss in the year of £480k – compared to a £285k loss in the previous year. This is due to an increase in turnover of £209k, offset by an increase in costs of £404k – largely related to an increase in wage/ salary costs of £352k.
- The club continues to have no debt and holds around about £1m cash in the bank.
- The directors took no salary or dividend payments from the club consistent with prior years.
- The club was in a positive net assets position at 30th June 2015 of £11.8m – that is to say it had £11.8m more assets than liabilities at that date.
