“Shropshire is a great place to live in but we face a range of social issues.

"Our aim is to provide a healthier and positive future for children and adults across the county.

“The day is about showcasing the great work our staff and volunteers have delivered over the last 12 months.

“Among our main aims for next year is to increase our provision within our community sport programmes and assist the football club in increasing the number of junior supporters.”
Jamie Edwards, Shrewsbury Town in the Community manager, said:

To celebrate, there is a whole host of community activities going on throughout the day.

Shrewsbury Town's Sky Bet League 1 fixture at home to Wigan Athletic on Saturday is the Club's dedicated community awareness day and Kick It Out day.
