Retro shirt on sale Saturday
There is a new retro shirt on sale in the Shrewsbury Town club shop with the return of the classic 1992/93 ‘scrambled egg’ kit. When the shirt was originally released it caused a lot of discussion between Town fans and fans around the world.
Over time it has gone down as a cult classic shirt and interest in it has grown over recent years.
Shrewsbury Town have worked closely with Errea to make sure the new retro shirt is as faithful to the original as it could.
The shirt will be on sale from the Clubshop from 10am on Saturday 2nd April on a first come first served basis priced at £40.
This first run of the scrambled egg shirt is limited so if you want one then get to the Clubshop as soon as you can on Saturday. If demand is high then we will look to do a second run of the shirts.
Shrewsbury Town Clubshop manager Siobhan Hayes is excited to see the return of the egg next season.
“The scrambled egg shirt had become an iconic Shrewsbury Town shirt and it was an easy decision to take to revive it”, said Sib
“Supporters I have spoken to about the possibility of this retro kit have been very positive and I have already taken a number of pre-orders from those fans that have seen it.
“We have worked closely with Errea to make sure that the kit is as faithful to the original as we could produce.
“I am sure this shirt will be a big hit with the supporters and it will be great to see it back out there being worn buy our fans.”
The story earlier about Town wearing it next season was a little April Fool joke, seemed to catch a few but not everyone :)
