Micky on Ebanks-Blake

The Gaffer gives his thoughts on signing Sylvan

Micky Mellon is hoping the signing of Sylvan Ebanks-Blake will help Town climb the table.
The 30 year old joins Town on loan from Chesterfield until January and the Gaffer is looking forward to working with the former Wolves marksman.
"He’ll give us that experience and that goal scoring knowledge that we need to get into the group, said Micky.
“If anybody looks at Sylvan’s record and we’ve all seen him at Wolves, he’s a fantastic footballer.”
“I’m delighted to get him in, he’s a goalscorer, he’s hungry to come here and do well, and added to Jack Grimmer he’s a great signing to the group and I’m sure the fans will be excited about it.”
“He’s coming here with a point to prove. He’s now at a stage in his career where he’s got to deliver. Added to what we’ve already got in the building, he will add to that.”
“We’ve thought about him for a long time. He’s local and we want to make sure players can be here within an hour, that’s one of the remits that we try and do in recruitment and he’s got that pedigree and that knowhow and that big game experience that we want to try and bring to the club.”
Micky hopes that Sylvan’s experience will help his other forwards push on and score goals too.
“He’s got that great experience,” said Micky.
“We’ve been looking for that for a while now. We didn’t want to try and bring anyone in until we believed it was the right time and then we got the opportunity to bring Sylvan in and he can only help.”
“With the likes of Mangan and Leitch-Smith, and you add Dodds to that as well, there should be no reason that when we put the ball into that 18 yard box we shouldn't score goals, so it’s exciting for the club.”
