Junior Brown On Man United Defeat

Wing Back Felt Town Gave Their All

Junior Brown felt Shrewsbury gave their all against a classy Manchester United outfit:

“It is always disappointing to lose but I thought we put a big shift in and did ourselves proud. We gave a good account of ourselves and it is time to get back to the league now and focus on what is important. Everyone dug in and we were solid in defence. I cleared the ball off the line a couple of times but all the lads were putting maximum effort in. It was probably the biggest game I have played in but the more important games will come in the next few weeks.”

The midfielder felt they were unlucky not to get on the score-sheet

“I think we gave them too much respect in the first half but we came out after the break and tried to get a goal but it wasn’t to be. On another day we would have scored but we couldn’t finish it today. We acquitted ourselves well and hopefully we can transfer some of the positives from today into the league”

The 26-year-old thought it was a magnificent cup run for everyone associated with the club:

“Its been a fantastic cup run and we deserved a brilliant tie like this. It was amazing for the fans and for everyone involved at Shrewsbury so that was great. It was a terrific opportunity for the lads to test themselves against the best and the fans sounded like they had a great time too. I managed to get Mates shirt too so I will frame that and have it in the house.”

The former Fleetwood man is looking forward to the crucial few weeks ahead: “If we can take that performance into Saturday then we will be fine. We are focused on the league and we will work hard this week and kick on for Saturday.  Over the next few weeks we have some massive games with teams in and around us but hopefully we will collect some points and get away from the relegation zone. These games coming up will decide our season and we will work solid to make sure we do the fans proud in them.”
