Gaffer talks about the signing of Andy Mangan
The news was confirmed today that Andy Mangan was returning to Town after agreement was reached with Tranmere Rovers.It gives Town a boost upfront with the pace and tenacity of Mangan added to the options Micky Mellon has from his strikers.
Mellon was pleased to have Mangan back on board and is sure it’s a move that Town fans will like;”We're delighted to be able to announce that we've brought him back.
"I'm really pleased to get the opportunity to get him back.
"It was difficult in the summer to get him back due to budget at the time.
"We all know what he brings to the group both on and off the field and of course he's a fox in the box and we know he's scored some important goals for us.
"I'm sure everybody will be delighted to see him back in a Shrewsbury shirt.”
The Town gaffer is looking to his forwards to chip in with more goals and is sure that Mangan will fit the bill;”We need goalscorers and everyone knows what he can do.
"He fits into what we want to do and brings that bit of pace to the team that we're looking for.
"Hopefully he comes and has another fantastic spell with us. “
The move is a permanent one which will see Andy extend his stay at Town for at least another 18 months;”We know we need to rebuild and I see Mangs as a part of that.
“He is a player that I know very well and he is a good football player and it’s great to have him back.
“He is very, very lively and it’s good to have a character like that around the team and the staff.”
