Match preview and game information

This weekend Shrewsbury Town visit Stourbridge FC of the Northern Premier League for a game of Association Football. Stourbridge came very close to the play-offs at the end of last season, finishing in 6th place, just two points adrift of Workington. The Glass-boys are managed by ex-Shrewsbury Town winger Gary Hackett who played well over 150 times for us and scored 20 goals before moving north of the border with Aberdeen. Hackett has been in charge of his home-town team since 2003, initially as co-manager but since 2005 he's been in sole charge of the Black Country club.

Other Shrewsbury Town connections in the Stourbridge squad are Mark Wright who played a big part in our most successful of Graham Turners recent spell as manager. Wright scored around a goal every four games for us as we were promoted to League two, he also played over 100 times for Shrewsbury Town. Another Shrewsbury Town connection is Ashley Vincent who played eight games for us in 2014.

Prediction
Given the difference in leagues between the two teams, we may be expected to win this one but it's a friendly game against a team that can play a bit and would be more than happy to take a football league scalp, be it a friendly or otherwise. I have no idea what the score will be, friendly games are notoriously difficult to call so I'll get the dice out again for this one!
