Season ticket sales top the 3000 mark
Season ticket sales for the forthcoming Sky Bet League 1 campaign have pushed past the 3,000 mark.It is a great response from the Shrewsbury Town fans who have been keen to back Micky Mellon’s team as they prepare for the new league campaign.
The second early bird discount period came to an end yesterday and sales have meant that we are now the 3000.
Town CEO Brian Caldwell is pleased that the Town fans have shown confidence in the new look side that the manager has been bringing together.
“It is excellent news that we have sold over 3,000 season tickets for the season ahead.
“It is great that the supporters have seen a team that they are confident that can do well next season and great that they continue to back Micky Mellon.
“We have tried to make the season ticket more appealing for families and our young supporters and the sales figures show that people have responded to this.
“I want to grow the fan base here at Shrewsbury Town and this is an encouraging start to that.”
Town have also revealed the matchday ticket prices for the 2016/17 season and prices have been frozen across the board.
As with the season tickets prices for families and our younger fans have been simplified to help encourage the younger supporters to come to the Greenhous Meadow.
“We have tried to make the season ticket price attractive but we also want to make prices fair for supporters who choose to pay on a match by match basis”, said Brian.
“3,000 season tickets is a great effort but we want as many supporters coming to the Greenhous Meadow to support the team.
“I think we should be getting bigger crowds and I want to try and do everything we can to ensure that happens.
“We are going to add a satellite ticket office by the West Stand so that will help make it easier for people to purchase tickets on the day.”
